    Hey to all,

I have Vista Home Premium, 32 bit, pre-installed on my 250 GB HDD in my new Dell Inspiron 1525.
I want to create a second partition on the HDD, so that I will always be able to format the partition that contains the OS, without losing all my stuff.

So far my attempts to do so using disk managment have failed. I am not able to shrink my hard drive at all and thus can't create a new partition.
It claims that it have something to do with the pagefiles and/or snapshots.

Can anyone guide me how can I overcome this problem or to show me another way to do it, pls pls pls....

Have you tried Partition Magic or Gpartition?
Both can configure and change the size of your partition, or generate new partitions right from the windows operating system.
