I am going to sell my T7600 Core 2 Duo 2.33 GHz CPU. I want to prevent malicious buyer who would swap his T7600 with mine and then return it. So, I have to find a way to find out the unique processor serial number or any other unique serial number of my T7600. Is there any unique number printed on the chip? Is there any software that would let me to identify the number? CPU-Z and Sandra don't seem to be able to do this.

S/N should be on the chip, in a font so small, you're going to need a telescope attached to a microscope to read it.

You could do the sticker/tape trick that a lot builders used/use. place the sticker/tape over certain areas so that it would have to be broken or removed to get to the cpu, and stipulate that all warranties are void if the sticker/tape is broken or removed.

yea that works just dont tell him about the tape.

also why would anyone swap out their T7600 for yours? If they did swap it out with a different cpu and return it, youll see it on CPU-z straight away

Think about it: eBay, someone has a computer with a broken processor. They buy yours, swap it out, and claim you shipped them a broken processor.

Reason #277 why I hate people.

I overlooked it and totally forgot the world is full of bad bad people..

OP: Just make sure you write down on your ebay listing "All serial #'s of parts have been recorded for tampering purposes"

You can record the RAM #'s from CPU-z. The other device #'s can be found in the device manager's details page

Are you sure they are compatible? The T5300 uses 533MHz bus speed while the T7600 uses 667MHz bus speed.

I am 100% sure they are compatible. I had the option of a T7600 on purchase, and I have run my friends T7600 in my system for a while. But unfortunately, he wanted his cpu back after my 10 minute test.

OK, after comparing mine with pic of other T7600s, I concluded that the serial number is printed on the chip to the left of the eSpec #.
