    I just got a Toshiba Satellite M100 – 10P01Q with 1 G of Ram.
How do I max. the performance of the system? Besides getting addition ram...
I would like to know if there is a guide or site(s) that provides what to do to a system to maximize the function for the most optimal efficient usage (ie: run smoother and faster are some examples)

I am new to computers and would like some insights please. I went to a site speednet.com and from the test I have a of download of 121 KB/S and upload of 31 KB/S. I think it is terrible considering I see other people around 9000s KB/S downloads and uploads 1400 KB/S.

What can I use to clean the screen?

    Thx

Internet connection speeds have nothing to do with the computer. No matter how much you optimize, your download & upload speeds won't change, unless u go for a higher speed internet.

    This is not true.

Your network protocols are important, as is your present hardware to connect to the internet.

Setting a bad MTU for example can devistate your connection.

Most people use auto settings and work well, but an advanced user can tweak everything and get abit more performance usually. This is better for a desktop based on one ISP because your connection type will determin what can bet tweaked and what kind of benifit you will recieve. So I dont see it being very usefull for say a notebook constantly connecting to diffrent wifi hotspots.

But I did have to correct you because thats misinformation.

If your intrested in tweaking things, somebody has recomended cablenut with some addon to me. For XP I always just used DrTCP
