I am trying to upgrade the firmware on my Wireless Access Point. I downloaded the updated firmware for the D-Link DWL-7100AP WAP device.

After the file list, it says it is a TFP file; Windows seems not to be able to find a program to open it.

I have tried to open it in Vista and XP Pro, but both of them search the web and come up blank.

Just trying to figure out if there is a program out there I can download to open this supposedly automatic install firmware.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

In the router setup page there's sometimes an 'upload firmware' option.

Otherwise I'd guess it has something to do with TFTP, which doesn't sound very automatic. Wrong file downloaded perhaps?

Thanks for the answer . . . but here is the list of files I downloaded from the D-Link site . . . just won't open right. PDF manual opened fine, but the firmware upgrade just won't open!

There must be something I do not know! Which is stating the obvious! :)
