Hi -- I can't seem to find the trick to removing the cd rw in this machine --I've removed the obvious single screw under the drive, but can't seem to figure out whaty to push, pull or pry next to coax it out. Any help would be much appreciated.

I'm pretty sure it is just the one screw. I've only ever take the CD drive out of one of those machines in the process of completely disasembling it, so I could be wrong.

I appreciate your reply --so, if it just the one screw, should I just pull firmly expecting the unit to pull away from the ide socket?
    Thanks for your help

Most lapto drives have 2 screws in the bottom. Look around, sometimes they hide one of them under the rubber foot.
