Got a new hard drive, it works great and all that, my old one now rests in an external enclosure. But when I try to access anything in my profile (documents, etc), when I click on it I get a message saying I don't have access. I'm assuming this is because I had a password on my login profile to XP before. Is there a way I can pull off my data without popping my old HDD back into my computer, and disabling the password, then popping the new HDD back in? Getting in and out of my computer is a pain, so I'd like to avoid it if I could.

hacking is not allowed in NBR. just pop it in your computer if you really want to access your files

You can try taking ownership of the files.
-
No, you're denied access because they belong to your old account (even if you named your new account the same, it'll have a different SID). You just need to take ownership of the files/folders.

No, it's because he had a password AND therefore belonged to that account. Non-passworded accounts will not have this issue.
Not even close to hacking, Microsoft has provided articles describing the process of taking ownership. -
Worked perfectly, thanks!
