The dell software I uninstalled had the functionality of disabling the touchpad on attaching an external mouse. The synaptics software I installed doesn't give me such an option(I can't find it), and the XPS M1330 lacks a touchpad disable key. Any suggestions on how to set the touchpad to disable on it's own, or assign a hotkey for the same?

If you don't have the Synaptics touchpad driver running, you won't be able to have it automatically disable.
