I read this post, and since I also have the "tingling" issue on my XPS due to an ungrounded home, I don't dare to plug my laptop to any other plugged device (TV, projector, speakers, etc).

Is there any way for me to be able to plug me XPS to another device, without risking frying my motherboard?

I am planning on getting a projector and/or 5.1 sound system, and I don't want to install grounding on my home...

    thanks.

Get a UPS. It should solve the problem i think. BTW how can ur home not be grounded? Are u living in the 20th century?

I'm living in the 21st century, but on a house built over 100 years ago... Its in pretty good shape, but I'd have to to a massive makeover to install grounding...

Doeas a UPS really solve the problem? would you dare to plug the laptop to a TV while the laptop is on a UPS if you were in my situation?
