i bought a laptop from CC

so the default username is Firedog

I went to Control Panel -> User Accounts
    Changed the name to "Steve"

So that's changed. but, if i goto My Computer -> Local Disk (C) -> Users

then it still shows up as firedog. and all programs still save stuff to Firedog.

so how do i change the name for real?

    thank you.

Create a new account named Steve and delete the Firedog account.

also, if you have a 'data' partition ie. separate from the os drive, you can right click on your a personal folder (the ones with the nice blue icons) and the go to properties. from there go the tab 'location', click move, select new location, apply, then say yes to move all files. do this for each blue icon folder. this will keep your personal stuff out of the os and will be easier to backup (you do backup your stuff?)
