I think NBR is not really expert in this stuff due to forum rules ~~.
I think you should try some bios-mod forums or forum dedicated to the model. I use to read stuff about overwriting bios password on forum.thinkpad.com etc.

Well, I remember in the dell m6600 technician guideline(not that I am a technician, but happen to reading it).
It have a line saying the technician need to enter a service tag or serial for motherboard when they do motherboard replacement and such code can not be changed thereafter. So I guess it probably model/brand specific.

What exactly is the problem with it not having a valid serial? Are you trying to activate windows or something and its not working? hopefully you're not trying to get warranty support since you replaced the motherboard...

NO mate .. In reality am not bothered about serial but at least model number..
UUID seems to be original .. and i dont care about serial..
No mate no activating windows ..it has nothing to do with it..
With activating is SLIC 2.0 - 2.1 and that is in bios already ..
Nooo noo haha warranty. :-D I was actually thinking that but n. :)
This type of vaio been discontinued two years ago . And noone is selling it .
It ia very hard find seller with warranty
I vwouldn't have courage to do it :) I just repairing laptops..
But here on IBM units it is possible dunno why by original even on HPs only sony must be bloody exeption and making up restrictions! hate them..!

So, you used DMIeditor 125, I can't find it, could you share it? I need to edit model name in BIOS image before flashing it to my system.
