I have narrowed down to these two HDs for an upgrade but I am not sure what the difference between them. Here they are:
http://www.cclonline.com/product-in..._id=457&manufacturer_id=0&tid=hts543225l9a300
http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/4-/49867...ve-5400rpm/Product.html?ptsl=1&ob=Price&fb=0#
both look similar but one is 5K250 and the other is 5K320.
Could someone please tell me whether 5K250 is inferior to 5K320, Thanks in advance.

I doubt it makes much of a difference.

The 250GB model might be a little more responsive, but keep in mind that your actual true (total) capacity is closer to 235GB vs. 300GB with the 320GB model.
Also, keep in mind what your normal % capacity filled is for the HD. If you normally need 100GB of O/S, programs and data then either drive should be fine. If you need 200GB of O/S, programs and data with you then the 320GB model should give you a better overall performance than the 250GB model.
See here for each models specs:

you will not notice any difference in those for every day use.

It seems both are 250GB models, that's the reason I'm confused.
EDIT:
Thanks guys for all your help, I think 5Kxxx denotes the maximum capacities. -

ellalan,
Sorry, I was looking at the model numbers (instead of the capacities)!
What I said above still hold true - the 7K320 model is spec'd at 12ms seek time and the 7K250 model is spec'd at 11ms seek times.
As long as you're comfortable with the capacity - then it seems like the 7K250 might be the wisest choice - but, the other side of that equation is that the 7K320 is the 'newer' model and would have all the new tech Hitachi has learned since the 7K250 was released.
So, keeping all the above in mind - I would go for the 7K320 myself.
How to choose between these two?
