The firmware in my WD3200BEKT doesn't let it spin at max speed constantly. In a quiet room I can hear the rpm constantly throttle up and down when the drive is accessed, and it's pretty annoying after about a minute.

So far the only program I've found that's able to control this and force it to spin constantly at full speed is Notebook Hardware Control. The issue with this program is that it's interfering with Power Manager. Are there any other programs that can control the hard drive speed/ spin up/down and leave everything else alone?

Btw, Power Manager shows that when using battery power, having the hdd constantly spin up/down vs full speed does save a couple watts.
