I have used Azureus, the "original/official" Bittorrent client, and utorrent. I'm sticking with utorrent because it is fast and light. For my old computer, Azureus was just too painful. The original client is servery lacking in options and customization.

I MAY try Azureus again, just because I have a fast enough laptop now, and because the speeds I'm getting are not fast enough for me :D. Though I think this is mostly due to my ISP throttling me

    1) Download uTorrent, Bittorrent, etc.
But i personally recommend uTorrent, its light(doesn't take much space), i notice alot of people recommend Azureus, sure its fine but it would be really slow on an old computer.
    2) Download a torrent from:
    Google for sites
    And there are more sites.
    3) Download the torrent you want, i would search for the one with the most Seeds(More seeds=Faster download, less seed=less speed) And if possible, less leechers( people downloading)
    4) Your done. After your downloaded your torrent(that you picked) play the movie, game, book, application, whatever.

Just got a question since someone is asking about torrents -I have heared some ppl saying that torrents download tools or eMule wears off Hard drive quicker, and leads to less life span of Hard drive. Is that ture?

HDD life span depends on the number of read/write cycles it's put through. Using torrents is just a faster way of downloading files as it seperates them into smaller fragments rather than than one huse chunk of data. So basically there is no real proof of them wearing down your HDD.

My path of torrent clients: Bittorrent -> Bitcomet -> Azureus -> uTorrent (never looked back/for anything else)
Still, sometimes I prefer IRC, Mediafire, Megaupload or Rapidshare if it's available~ :D

    Please help me.
On my pc I use Utorrent to download but I can't seem to make utorrent work on my new notebook. When I hit the download icon it just opens up tab after tab (over 100 before I closed it all down!) This is probably a silly question but is there anything different you have to do to download on a acer notebook?

I don't know what the problem is but I have uTorrent installed on my notebook and it works great! Try to reinstall the program.
I just noticed this thread is like 2 years old but anyway... I prefer buying/renting movies because it's a lot better quality.

If you didn't check uTorrent's forum.
    You should.

They'll try to help you, HOWEVER
first read their FAQ and then create a thread.

edit: I have an Acer notebook and I didn't need to change anything.

    What is a torrent? :D

Seriously since getting my newsgroup sub about 2 months ago I have not touched one. Well I did today to get the latest Bleach episode not on usenet yet, but I hate using torrents now unless I aboly have too.

They do have some advantages though I suppose, if you can find an active torrent that is over a year old because most newsgroups only hold data for a year. Im trying to track down Bleach 1-150 now because I deleted them and thats way over a year back so I have to see if I can find torrents active enough to get them.

Can find them right off DB's site though so wont be hard to find them atleast.

Also my ISP has both Pirate Bay & Mininova blocked so two of the best sites I can not use.

Yes, I agree. Newsgroups are by far the more consistent and easier way to get stuff, but it's not for everyone. Especially with the monthly fee for decent Usenet access and retention.
