    How to enable L2 cache?

    I've got 2mb L2 cache detected by the Intel Processor ID Utility. Problem is, it's not turned on..how do i turn it on? sorry for being a complete noob about this.

    If you have any Intel processor that is Core Duo/Solo or earlier, or a Core 2 T5x00 series processor, you only have 2MB L2 cache.

    The only processors that have 4MB are T7x00 series processors (T7200, T7400, T7600).

    night_2004, i think he knows that he should have 2mb cache, but he trusts the AIDA reading and thinks that there is no cache present

    obviously the AIDA is reading the cpu wrong as one CANNOT disable L2 cache

    AIDA is saying that there is no L2 cache present and thats what i think is worrying him

    Gotcha...I'm a little surprised that a program wouldn't have correctly ID'd the cache... :confused:

    You can sometimes turn off the L2 cache in bios, but I've never seen it done (It would only make sense to do for debugging purposes, so why the option is even available in the end-user's bios is beyond me.

    It's always turned on by default, and it does not get switched off. Ever... ;)

    AIDA is no longer supported. It`s Everest now. Probably has something to do with that.
