Hey, I've got a nv 9600m GT notebook. I would like to force the clock to the lowest possible to reduce heat. Whenever I open an HD flash stream or even watching a xvid movie the clock always comes to the maximum. I tried Powermizer Manager but it only forces Maximum clock. Isn't there an app or registry hack to force the lowest or a slower, less heat, clock state?

    Cheers

I know of a vBIOS hack, but that would not be easy to get your other clocks restored.

I think you should try nvidia inspector to see if you can do it, then rivatuner. Pretty sure riva tuner will work.

The problem is some videos might actually run slower... And heres the weird thing... your card might run hotter.
Yes, its not just voltage and clocks that create heat, remember? Its the % load. At lower clocks the card will essentially be less powerful and get heavy load more easily.

Its unlikely, happens more with ATI cards. You'll have to experiment tho.

Nvidia Inspector doesn't "force" a p-state but can reclock the state wich is great. I can force the maximum state and control the clock with inspector. Problem solved! Thank you!
