    Hi,

I have a wd5000bevt, but it's not starting with 22 for its serial number.
I heard rave reviews, etc, but there is this ramping up and down, almost like the drive is forcefully exhaling with a whoosh. Or it's like it's starting up and pushing a small blast of air and then stopping. It's really annoying and it is not in line with any drive I have heard before. It's not a clicking noise.
Several people have had similar complaints, but it seems like the models starting with serial # 22 are better. Can anyone verify this? Is there a way to be sure to get one of these models?

    Thank you

If it is directly correlated with the serial, I'm very sure that it has to do with the model of the HD.
