Hi. I have an Acer Aspire 6530. It is running Windows 7, and the graphics are controlled by ATI Catalyst software.

I almost always have the laptop connected to an LCD which I use as my main screen, an eMachines E18HTFT.

The funny thing is, when my laptop goes into sleep mode or I turn it off, the external monitor does not go into energy-saving sleep mode. A message comes up on it saying that "Signal Has Been Lost." Then, I have to manually turn the monitor completely off.

I know there is something called DPMS function (VESA Display Power Management Signaling) that is supposed to put the monitor to sleep when the computer goes to sleep, but I can't find out how to enable it.

I can't find out how to get my monitor to go to sleep when I turn off or put to sleep the laptop. Any ideas?
