Hi I just put another 2 gigs of Ram into my dell laptop and I've run memtest.
The thing is I left memtest on, and then went for a nap. I slept for a lil longer than I expected and I woke up on the beginning of the 4th pass. Would errors from the first few passes still be showed under the "errors" column? cuz so far i have no errors.
Or do errors only show up on the column for errors on the current pass? cuz i really don't wanna wait for another 2 hours for the fourth pass to finish if y'know what I mean.

Its recommended to do at least 4-5 passes, let it finish to be safe. But no, all errors are held on screen.

Looks like you don't have any errors.
Your ram is good to go.
Errors would show up in the error column and in red I believe.

You'd see the error messages if there were any. Sometimes it is recommended to run the test for 24h to be sure in the quality of your RAM.

My own RAM has produced an error message on memtest when the notebook was overheated under the subtropical sun. Otherwise is works flawlessly.

Even if you run it for 24 hours, you can't be sure there are no errors.

The point in memtest is to prove that there *are* errors. It can never prove that there are *no* errors.
So you'll never be "safe" or "sure", or know that there are no errors. You just know that memtest hasn't found any.

But yes, to answer the question, if it finds an error, it keeps displaying it even when it begins subsequent passes.

I always do 32 passes, because:

    Source.

But I don't know if it really makes a difference if you cycle through all possible data patterns or not. MSI claims they test memory sticks for 30 passes in their motherboards.

    Exactly. :)
