    Can anyone tell me how to monitor the temperature of my Buffalo USB extarnal hard drive ?

    you should be able to select another HDD (probably D or something)... Use a program like Notebook Hardware Control or RivaTuner.

    I know that HDtune's monitoring doesn't work with externals...at least mine anyway :p

    You cannot monitor with traditional tools, because the USB interface is not an IDE or a SATA interface, and the data transfer protocol does not support anything other than data transmission.

    Infrared meter maybe?

    Actually Everest tells me the temp of both my externals.

    Hi.

    I have been trying to get a program to monitor my USB WD 500GB SATA.

    But most program have problems reading USB and especialy SATA USB EXTERNAL.

    I have tried loads of programs.
