Well I have a new HP Pavillion laptop with Windows Media Center and I'm looking to use it as a dvr for my tv at college.

I also just bought the Samsung T220HD LCD Monitor with a built in tv tuner.

    QUESTIONS:

Apparently you need a tv tuner card for your pc to record digital cable but since the Monitor has a built in tv tuner, is it necessary for me to buy one for my laptop as well?

If so, what would you recommend (hardware) that is both good quality and relatively inexpensive?

    Thanks
