Anybody know how I can tell if my Go 7400 is sharing RAM and how much it's sharing?
-
-
64mb dedicated the rest is shared
-
The Go 7400 in my dv6000t has 128MB dedicated.
I just want to be able to check how much it's sharing. -
The review of your laptop on this site says 128MB + 128MB, so at most 128MB but will only use when needed. As to how much at any particular time you could try and ascertain in certain ways but why?
-
I already knew that. I just want to know how much of my RAM it's using when I'm running certain programs.
-
OK for a guy asking a question you sure do know a lot. That said I will try again and if it does not help be nice to me. "Ctrl + Alt + Del" brings up "Task Manager" click "performance" tab shows RAM used at bottom. Start a program see how it changes.
-
If I wanted to see how much RAM each program was using I would just monitor it in my processes.
Does anybody have an answer to the original question I asked? -
You are getting obtuse! Here is my new answer, NO!
-
As stated in my first question all I want to do is monitor how much RAM my GPU is using.
-
And you can't do that, you really can't their is no way unless the GPU monitors the RAM it takes, clearly RAM usage is of no help because because who knows why or where it is being used, even in a game the RAM used is not just just by GPU, so the answer is NO, I understand your question and have answered if I'm wrong (I am not) let someone show me. New question, why do you care.

Ok now for some helpful input. Now if you are using windows XP as your graphics card wants more ram it removes it from what windows can use and if you go into system and see how much ram it says you have installed it will say less than the amount of your physical sticks. Say you have 2 gig of ram and teh graphics card is using 64 Mb it should say 2048 - 64 = 1984Mb.
In windows vista this might work or it might not becasue Vista takes control of how much ram it wants to give your graphics card and I'm not sure if that method will work. Could be worth a go though.
Hope that helps -
