I have a 80 GB fujitsu SATA drive that I pulled from a Lenovo Thinkpad T61p. How do I tell if it is SATA I or SATA II?

Look up the model number on the manufacturer's website.

Thanks. I just tried as you suggested and it looks like I found the drive on the fujitsu website Here. I looked at the SATA specs and I don't understand, it says "Data transfer to/from host = 1.5Gb/sec. or 3.0Gb/sec". Does this mean it is SATA I or II?

If the 80GB you have is the 80GB in your link it is SATA 2.0, link.

But it is really not much of an issue as will not saturate SATA 1.0 anyway.
