Hi guys, I want to know how to use HDDerase to wipe out my Intel SSD and start over CLEAN.
Don't refer me to the website at UCSD because I've been there and read the little PDF and text file.
I have tried to create a USB bootable disk, but vista doesnt allow me to get into DOS. It tells me to remove my USD stick and push any button. When I do, it reboots.
BTW, is there even a DOS in vista?
I also created a bootable CD that can wipe out the SSD, but it's showing an error.

I don't understand what is wrong. It is not my CD drive because I have even use an external CD drive and I still get the same error.
I am using IMG burn to burn the ISO downloaded from the UCSD's website. I already wasted 3 CD-R.

What is going on? How do I get HDDerase to wipe out my SSD?

Is there a manual backdoor besides rebooting the computer into DOS?
And how do I even get into DOS in vista anyways?
    CMD-> Command doesn't help either.

*PS My notebook is an HP HDX16T.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    there wasn't really a dos since win98..

one thing: have you set your sata mode in the bios to "ide" or "ide emulate" or so.

It has been in IDE. Never changed it.
There is no way that HP allows AHCI mode access-able. It can be enabled, but you may not be in the mode.
So in essence, yes. I never went to any other mode besides staying in IDE.

BESIDES HP BIOS doesn't have an option anywhere to change it. HP locked that option out.

Can someone else help me out?

I think it has to be "compatible mode" . I cannot enable it in BIOS either, I did google, but I have found no other way to run HDDERASE.
    :(

Download something like gpartd or pmagic and use that bootable media to zap your drive.

Remember though that SSDs are read/write life limited. Even with fancy controllers and load leveling it can be a problem. Just reformat the drive and start over. Any data you toss out there will overwrite the old stuff anyway.

holy crap! i thought i tripled posted, but that was just a glitch. weird.

anyways. i am able to burn a good working copy of ultimate boot CD.

I go to Hard drive tools >> Wiping tools >>> HDDErase 3.1 >> And it goes into a lot of scrolling up words, with tons of pop-up boxes asking me to confirm.
Then it stops ending with the A:/ Prompt.

What do I do next? Why am I not getting the option to do anything? I tried to type in hdderase but that give me the "bad prompt command"

I also tried hdderase.exe and nothing works! Whats wrong!?
