1) How would you configure your new rig if you can only upgrade one option?
a) Increment in Processor speed
b) Go from Single to Dual Core processor
c) Increment in RAM (ie 512 to 1 GB or 1 GB to 1024 + 512 MB)
d) Increase HD size (ie 60 to 80 GB)
e) Increase HD speed (ie 4200 to 5400 or 5400 to 7200 RPM)
f) Increase screen resolution
g) Increase size of battery size
e) Extend warranty or add accidental protection
2) How would you rank them in order of priority? Why?

Single to Dual Core cause then I'd have a Turion X2 before anyone else.

I'd have to say g). Overall happy with everything else in my notebook, but more battery life is always nice. Even though I have a 9 cell in here and am able to squeeze about 3 hours out doing web browsing and other non-intensive stuff with eveything turned down, I could always use a little more. But then again, something like a 12 cell battery (if they even exist?) would turn an already heavy notebook into a monstrosity.

dual core has to be the most important thing
then RAM and HD speed are about equal
screen res.
battery life
cpu speed (if it's a dual core, even the slowest is still quick)
i never get warranty, i'd rather put the moeny towards upgrades! -
Dual core. Then ram and HD speed. screen res and CPU personally unless for mobility battery is towards the bottom of my list
