    Hi,

Lately I have been thinking of buying a new laptop but as my warranty is coming to an end, I was thinking of upgrading my current HP G7000. I need more hard drive space, a faster cpu, a better fan etc.etc. My question is - Is this all possible? If no-one knows anything of the G7000 ( a now discontinued line i think) then I can post some info, also info on my hardware can be posted if needed. So, is this possible? Or should I just accept the fact this laptops a little old and get a new one? I'd be happy for any help! Thanks.

Yes, the HDD and CPU can be upgraded, but if you're going to upgrade every part, then buy a new laptop.

it would be better if u buy a new laptop as the cost of upgrading only would get u a new one... otherwise u could use ur laptop and not upgrade and buy a new one when mobile core i7 comes out...

Yup ... seems sensible to wait unti the mobile Core i7 comes out and make a purchase then.
Buying right now would stick you with previous generation of technology for the most part (which also depends on where you're buying and how much money you are willing to put into it).

I would imagine that mobile core i7 would be costly though ... so depends really on your budget.
But there's a possibility that the C2Q laptops will come down more in price (hopefully) and you could spend your money on those instead.

hdd, cpu, ram will likely cost $400 or more. And no significant warranty either.

Price out a C2D mobile, 4 Gb ram, 200Gb disk, 16 or 17 inch screen. And you might get a three year warranty.
