    Hp dv6500 (6599) and Lacie Porsche (250gb) transfer problems

    As the title says im having problems using my external harddrive with my new hp laptop. Transfering files from the hd to the laptop does not work. Transferring from the laptop's disk to the external one does work.

    The external hd is FAT32 partitioned (was using mac and xp before).

    Im running windows vista (the install that came with the hp).

    When I copy i get the windows saying that its calculating time remaining, then it just dissapears after a little while.

    update: now it doesnt even work, i connect the drive and i have a reapeating sound like if it was reading the same thing over and over again. What can I do now? I cant live with loosing all my music and fotos.
