    Yo guys,

My 8600m gs just failed a week ago because you know,a 8xxx defective card with G84 failure core.I got both mobo replaced,so the gpu and mobo is brand new.

I know that this laptop will fail again after 2-3 years, because I usually game at weekends and the gpu is a failure.

I undervolted my cpu of course and I also cleaned the dust in the computer, and applied a new termal paste. My cpu doesnt get hot at gaming but my gpu is always around 70-75C.Guess what, the fan doesn't even spin actually, since the cpu is 40-46C at gaming. The fan would only spin if cpu is hot enough like 55-60C,I dont know why hp put a crap bios like this. There is huge impacts on tempertures.

75C is the zone were the fan kicks in slowly(gpu)
The fan never spins if cpu is under 45C.
I havent seen the fan spinning at a high enough speed even the gpu was 85-90C.

I observed that the laptop's fan only kicks in when the cpu is hot enough,if I keep the cpu at 35C or something and the gpu reaches 95-100C the fan will hardly start to kick in.

I cant flash my vga bios, since it is unknown at gpuz and cant be detactable.

And I dont if there is a gpu-cpu update for this laptop,

the model is hp pavilion 9630et by the way.

There should be a BIOS update for the Motherboard that should have fixed that to begin with, or there could be an option in the BIOS to keep the fan running at all times.

You could always clean off the thermal paste on the cpu and apply only enough to keep it from killing itself, but that's not really "fixing" the problem.
