So for the past couple of days, theres been a humming sound coming from around the right area of my keyboard. I'm not quite sure what it is, but has anyone else had a similar problem? Could it be my hard drive making that sound?
I'm on a toshiba satellite A300.

Could be the HDD.

Hmm, right now i just put my ear close to my keyboard, near the middle this time and i heard a really different sound. Like it would be a really really quiet hissing, kinda hard to hear and it would hiss for a second, pause and keep going in that pattern.
The humming noise is still there too. -

What happens if you take the HDD out, just boot into the BIOS and listen.

loose capacitor on the mainboard IMO.

Are you sure its the HD and not the screen humming?
Try to isolate it by using Moral Hazard's tip by removing the HD.
While its out, if you still hear the noise, cover the keyboard area with a large book and/or thick blanket - now, is the noise coming from the LCD or the motherboard as BaldwinHillsTrojan thinks?
Humming noise coming from the keyboard area.
