I'm looking into a Dell Studio XPS 13 laptop and the two video card options are the Geforce 9400M G and the 9500M g, which I understand is just a 9400 and a dedicated 9200M GS combined. Since only the 9400 is a motherboard gpu, can I easily remove the 9200 (or just never order it in the first place) to replace it with a more powerful GPU later? I can't seem to find any information for what video cards support Hybrid SLI. Thanks for your help!

Any card that small will probably be directly mounted on to the mobo, I wouldn't count on it even being removable let alone anything useful like MXM

The 9400 is a combined graphics/northbridge and is soldiered to the mobo. Removal, will without a doubt, destroy the computer.
The 9200 is also soldiered to the board, unfortunately. It is not user replaceable either, but I doubt it would break your system if you tried something crazy.
Bottom line: both soldiered to motherboard, both not replaceable. -
As the others mentioned, all graphics solutions for your laptop are integrated, and can only be upgraded by buying a new motherboard for your system. If you want to game, you should have bought more of a gaming laptop
