Is it usefull to have a TV Tuner build in your Laptop ?
Is anyone using it ? I think it generates quite a lot of heat and
over the time of everyday use it damages your laptops performance ?

Would you say it is a great thing to have in your laptop ?

isn't it 2 late to ask that AFTER you ordered your Pegasus? :p

I ordered the Xtreme770 with TV tuner
i think it'll generate less heat than gaming every day, so it shouldn't be to big a problem :)

I had a TVcard in my desktop, and at least that one didn't get very hot (not even after a few hours)

    Useful*.

It's just like a television. Think about normal TV. Can you live without it? Do you watch 3+ hours of TV per day? If so, your TV tuner will be a great thing. If not, it won't be so great.

What people don't get is that a TV tuner is like a TV. EXACTLY like a TV. It's not any more or less useful than your living-room television.

I got a mobile TV tuner for my laptop. The AutumnWave HDTV Creator. Also known as the OnAir HDTV Creator. The GT model is more popular for laptops, but I wanted a separate power source for the tuner.

    I love it! Works great!

(Disclaimer: I work for AutumnWave, but I'll try to remain objective!)

Internal tuners are decent for Analog-only TV. If you're going for a hybrid (Digital TV + Analog TV) tuner, I could never recommend anything but external for now.

A significant number of our customers are upgrading to our OnAir GT to replace their internal tuner. A laptop with a built-in tuner is certainly more portable, but provides marginal results compared to an external tuner like the OnAir GT.

My personal recommendation (aside from the fact that I work for AutumnWave) is to find a decent external TV tuner.
