Has anyone ever heard of hynix ram? I grabbed a 2gb (2Rx8-PC2-6400S-666-12) ram chip out of my old HP dv5 (the worst laptop I've ever owned, and thats why I'm concerned about using any components from this laptop any other computers), I wanted to put it in my X220.

Any of you ever heard of it? or have any advice as to whether or not I should use it in brand new lenovo?

Should be fine as long as it is the correct type which I don't believe it is.

The stick sounds like DDR2 and the X220 uses DDR3.

    I've heard of it.

DDR2 - your new Lenovo should be DDR3 (physically won't fit - don't force it!).
