Im working on a tool for ASUS Notebooks and part of it is a front end for setfsb. I need to come up with two things one a list of ram and fsb frequencies and two determine the actual relation between the rated and the real fsb.

I am using the rated fsb speeds for the configuation of the app as its what most people are familiar with and makes it easier for them. But as well I see every cpu-z screen shot for amd puts it at 200?

So whats the relation between bus speed and the HT Link speed?

List I have so far for DDR1-3 and Pentium 4 to current (pretty sure I am missing some amd speeds) left out sdr for now dont think this app will be used on that old of a laptop.

    What?
    Ram:
    PC133: 33, 66, 100, 133mhz
DDR/DDR2/DDR3: 200,266,400,533,800,1066,1200,1600 (divide number by 2 is the clock speed)

CPU: Intel - quad pumped FSB. Memory divide varies, usually 1:1.
AMD- No FSB( at least for cpu produced in the last 3-5 years), HT is usually 1, 1.5, 2, 3 Gbit/s. It doesn't affect the clock speed of the memory.

Becareful though, when overclocking, watch for the FSB straps. Sometimes higher CPU overclock actually yield less performance for both RAM throughput and CPU Flops.

The HyperTransport specification lists something entirely different then what your saying.

I use FSB as a general term, there is a bus speed. You list the bandwidth by sepcifying Gbit/s. There is a frequency and the bandwidths im reading are alot higher then 3 Gbit/s

    HT 1.x for example 800 MHz = 1,600 MT/s = 3,200 MB/s but thats O L D

EDIT @ Your EDIT - Im not worried about the overclocking in general thats not my problem lol, just what the exact number im sending to set fsb's bus switch. It works on a 1:2 ratio so I have to compensate for systems that dont.

What was I thinking, LOL. opps.

    HT: 0.8, 1.4, 2.6, 3.2ghz.

I need to find an amd user who actually uses setfsb on their amd to tell me what their doing for speed input. I know the bios tuning is entirley different as you have a couple of adjustment options for hypertransport.

But whats important to me is say the user has TL64 whos HyperTransport is rated at 1600, now what does set fsb read the speed at? their ram speed actually comes into the situation because im trying to reverse the math.

The adjustment for set fsb comes in because it works on a 1:2 and say for me I have a 2:3 ratio 266:400. At 266 Mhz I am actually telling SetFSB to set the speed to 200mhz even though in actuality its setting it to 266. But thats intel I dont know what the bus speed is for amd.

Even if theirs is 1:2 i still need the frequency i cant tell setfsb -1600 itll crash instantly guaranteed.

    Found this rambling on newegg:
I am guessing HT's actual bus speed really is 200 and the rest works off a multiplier or multiple wave (multiple data rate) system.
