It's a gateway, i don't have the model number, i'll post it when i pick up the computer. BUT any way, on the last clean install, windows xp, it recognised the mobo as somthing esle. it was like "advanceed somthing" and now is "standard PC". So, my question is how do i get ALL the hardware and drivers to be the same as they were, including the mobo. I like this laptop but it has too much "crapware" thanks everyone!

where did it recognise the mobo? what program are you using where it reads the mobo with a name? mobos aren't listed under device manager in XP. and mobos dont have drivers anyways, the devices used in the mobo do, so if that's what you're talking about which device exactly was this?

    it says

oh... screen shot wont attach... it says inder Computer->Standard PC

Before i did a clean install it said like Advance somthing pc. My question is how do i prevent this from happening with my new lappy.

You mean in Device manager, the name at the top right above all the listings of devices says standard PC? this is probably the computer name. right click my computer go to properties and click on the computer name tab and click change to chance the computer name
