    Hi there guy's.

I recently replaced my Laptops screen as it was broken.
The new screen is great & there are no problems what so ever. Was very easy to install.

The only change how ever is that I have to change my screen's brightness to the Dimmest setting for it to be bright. So it's pretty much the opposite now.

Is this going to be a problem?

Yeah that's the only difference. I'm happy everything's running fine though.
The screens look exactly the same, but i did notice my old one was Samsung dislpay & the new one was LG.

    Try re-seating the display connector(s)?

If you bought the screen from your laptop manufacturer, you should definitely pester them about it. If you bought the display from a third party vendor (eBay, etc), that LG vs Samsung might make a difference, but I'm still skeptical. If the screens are compatible, they should work the same way.

When you connect your broken display, does the problem persist?

Yeah I bought it from a third party supplier from Amazon.
It isn't a big problem the screen works fine. I just have the pre-set screen brightness settings saved as the opposite way round.

I might try re-seat the connectors, though I don't have a Phillips head screw-driver to open it up again.
I can't connect my old screen as it is completely busted.

The rear LCD connecter wont do a thing that dosent control the brighness. I think it might be the cables for the light in the screen are reversed thats my best gusse.

It's because of the inverter...it seems that you have to put the original inverter from your Samsung screen on your new LG and everything will be just fine. It happens sometimes when change the screens, especially when the new one has own inverter. What is the screen resolution of the hew one?

    They are both 1280 x 800

Sounds like more hassle then anything, to replace the new inverter with the old one, is it hard?
It's funny though the screens look exactly the same, even with the same part number printed on the back from my memory.

My New screen didn't come with any other parts, apart from the LCD it's self.
Just to make things clear my laptop is a Toshiba Satellite M70

I think i may just leave it be.

It is not difficult, but if you can live with it, just leave it

I know there is one connector cable on the LCD screen, do i need to take out an internal part of the old screen that is connected with that cable?

He's right. The inverter is actually, ahem, inverting the voltage again so that up is down and down is up. No biggie but if you ever go to sell it it may be an annoyance no one else wants to deal with. But it won't hurt it. All the brightness does is increase or decrease the brightness of the CCFL backlight to control screen brightness. Kind of like those rotary switches do for light in you house, Surely you've seen one of those. Same concept......
