I am going nuts trying to connect my laptop to my older (RCA only) TV.

    Hi guys,

I got a laptop, it has 1x HDMI and 1x VGA

I am trying to connect it to my older TV that only have RCA input. (red/white/yellow)

I bought this cable from eBay: here

But of course it was too good to be true, it doesn't work. (while using the proper resolution/frequency of course) I read on the net (not too much info about it) that it's not meant for PC to TV.

All I want is to connect my laptop to my old TV, is that possible? I am ready to buy any cable that will do the trick..

Can anyone suggest what exactly do I need?

    Many thanks!
    Toast

A simple cable will not work. As ViciousXUSMC pointed out, you need a signal converter. You can find plenty of those on eBay.

I used to run an S-Video to composite RCA from my laptop, never tried VGA / HDMI though.
