hey i downloaded SpeedFan erlier because i noticed my laptop was really hot. So i downloaded SpeedFan checked my speed when i was playing a online game and my tempreture was 80+ 85 most of the time and i looked on some forums and saw that 70+ is too hot. So what i did is clean the fan put everything back in place, but that didnt really help that much its still 70+ when playing an online game and the normal is around 50-60!

What else do i need to do?!? Please help guys! i dont want my motherboard Dieing!

Very much appreciated i will give good ratings out! thankyou!

SpeedFan doesn't work for notebooks, and it normally doesn't display the correct temps. Monitor temps using HWMonitor, and undervolt your CPU.

Download HWMonitor, depending upon the which Vista you have - 32/64 bit.
And follow the undervolting guide, to reduce CPU temps. It won't help idle temps by much, but if done correctly, your load temps will drop down significantly.

Maybe you could try reapplying the thermal paste to the gpu and processor.

If thats the temp of your graphics card its fine, my quadro hits about 85 max when gaming. Anything under 90 is fine from what I recall for GPUs. My CPU maxes at around 72 when gaming.

I noticed the same thang to my CPU yesterday, it's between 65 - 83Celsius when having ~70% load on both cores.. Idle is about 50Celsius...

I opened up my notebook today to confront dust, but there wasn't any blocking anything, strange enough... so i replaced the thermalpaste for the CPU, but the temps didn't change more than 5Celsius less than before.. usualy i haven't seen my CPU go above 65C load... so i'm very confused what has happened here..

try undervolting and cleaning the actual dust from the heatsink, not just the fan.
Your temperatures should never really go above 75C becaue electronics slowly burn out at higher temperatures.
My cpu in my dell maxes out at 140F and my cpu in my voodoo maxxes out at 145F under full load.

The cooling systems in most laptops are really bad, so the most you can really do is keep it clean and undervolt.
Than if the temps are still bad, its time for a laptop cooler.

Those are nasty temperatures.. If you're already cleaned it, then follow the undervolting guide to undervolt it. Then, if there's not a big change, follow the guide here to apply thermal paste. But do be very careful, with the thermal paste, as you are, after all, opening up your laptop. Any static might just *beep* it.

I thought anything under 90C was fine for the GPU...

I max out at 88C SOmetimes, usually around 80, i thought that was fine.
With my cooler it maxes at 77C sometimes, usually at 72C...

For the computer you have, 80-85 C is probably a'OK ;) If it is the CPU running these temepratures, I'd reapply some better thermal paste. If it's the GPU, don't worry.
