I have Vista home premium 64 bit
    4 gigs ram
    2 GeForce 8700M GT 512mbs SLI-linked

I have to run it at 1024x768 on medium settings, most on low.

What am I doing wrong? What drivers should I be using?

By the way, I'm using a laptop.

Any help would be great, thanks!

you have to run at 1024x768? does that mean there is no higher rez offered? that would be monitor then as your max rez for your laptop screen may be 1024x768.. your max rez is only limited by your screen

That last one did it, I just needed the right driver. I just couldn't seem to figure out which one to download, and I tried a lot of them.

Anyway, thanks! Crysis seems to be running quite nicely now. It's amazing what a set of drivers can do.

    Cheers, and thanks again

Also (this is for Crysis) the thing will sometimes pause for a few seconds every now and then.

I can't figure out what to do about that.

crysis is a terrible game to get to run perfectly smooth. it's more of a graphic demo or benchmark than a game, however, it is fun to mess around in.

the 8700gt is only a 128 bit card, so you'll find problems running at higher resolutions compared to other high end cards. though it's labeled a high end card, it's really an OC mid range card. though, with yours configured in SLI, you should be able to max out or run most on high at many newer games at lower resolutions.

new drivers will be good for you card. i suggest go to www.laptopvideo2go.com and try out DOX's 180.84.1 drivers. they're more optomized for gaming, and they have all the gunk stuff that nvidia puts in removed.

Really? I thought the 8700M GT would be a little better than that...

    512mb souded great to me.

Thanks for the driver info, I'm going to check it out now
