I have a rc512 as found here
Samsung - Laptop / Intel® Core i7 Processor / 15.6" Display / 6GB Memory / 750GB Hard Drive - Black/Graphite - RC512-S02
Upgraded ram to 8gb max to max capabilities, how about a hybrid HDD? do they use more power than the standard HDD its a 750gb 5400rpm hdd, would a 500gb 7200rpm hybrid HDD use less power but be faster at the same time?
hybrids are a new design to me, dont know much about them.

Yes the hybrid drive will be much faster than the 5400rpm drive. See here for real world performance examples: SSD shootout: Real World Performance
In a laptop like that you are not going to notice any difference in battery life.
The two best hard drives are the Seagate Hybrid and the WD Black 750GB.
Seagate wins at booting and application launching, WD has the best sequential throughput (good for video editing and transfering files). -

worth it in your honest opinion?
-
Hybrid drives are a bit of a gimmick IMO.
-
Totally worth it in my opinion. I sold my SSD because I found the value for money too low. I'm now using the Momentus XT and it feels very much like an SSD for my usage.
I made a video so you get an idea of the real world performance.

If i bought one, how do i copy exact data to new hd without a hassle? ive seen the docking stations where i plug 2 int ogether and it just duplicates it, any other way? i want everything on my current HD on that one

Acronis True Image can do that for you.
You need the new drive and a USB enclosure.
PS. there might be cheaper (free) software available too. -
Assuming you haven't filled up 750GB worth of data on your laptop, you can get one of these: Newegg.ca - INEO I-NA214U-Plus Plastic 2.5" White USB 3.0 External Hard Drive Module with leather pouch (White) to connect your old 750GB hard drive to USB 3.0/2.0 and use Seagate's software to clone the old disk on to the new Hybrid disk.
Aftewards you can use your old drive as an external and even have options to quick swap any other 2.5" on to your USB external caddy, pretty neat product. -

is the biggest hybrid 500gb? I dont need 750gb but im use to it. partitioned it into 2 sections, 300/450gb 450 as a back up.

Yes, it's 500GB. I could not be happier with my hybrid drive. It has given me phenomenal performance -- especially compared to my old 5.4kRPM drive.
