you mean migration? See here: Intel Data Migration Software Walkthrough Tutorial for SSD Upgrades Linus Tech Tips - YouTube

ok, I meant can I copy the entire drive to my ssd, and just continue on my merry way...or will I ahve to load everything again.

It depends, if you want to clone the drive, you need to make certain that it is aligned.

tilleroftheearth Wisdom listens quietly...
You can't copy from one storage medium to another: the term is properly called 'cloning a drive'. As in you clone your existing HDD to the SSD.
While that will let you be on 'your merry way' in a relatively short time (as short as 5 minutes if you use a desktop system with internal SATA ports...), it is highly NOT recommended.
A clean Win7 install on the SSD will give you the most performance and least headaches possible going forward - guaranteed.
Not only will the alignment be correct for the SSD - you will also be forced to install just the current/best drivers and the latest versions of the software you need in addition to Win7 setting itself up properly for the SSD instead of the mechanical HDD based storage sub-system. This also ensures that any software you are using with install key codes will continue to work properly in the new system (you may have to 'de-activate' the software first on your current system in order to use it on the new SSD - without having possibly re-purchase it).
Sure, you can save yourself a few hours now and suffer the consequences for the rest of your ownership of this system (and you may even be forced to do a clean install in any event too...) with sub-optimal performance and increased WA ratio's for that priviledge.
Or, you can do this properly and never have to do this again for the life of the system (assuming no further upgrades, of course).
Good luck. -
As tiller mentioned I recommend a clean install too. Since the write speed is much faster on an SSD it will take 7-8 mins to do a clean install of Win7. Way faster than a traditional harddrive.

Clean install also recommended here. As the others mentioned, it will be done rapidly, you'll be certain your SSd is aligned properly and you'll have a laptop clean of bloat too.

Heres a discussion on it, one says theres no difference in fresh install vs cloning---he used EaseUD Disk Copy to clone the larger 250 GB HDD to the 80 GB SSD.

kojack, Intel Data Migration Software will clone your HDD to SSD with aligment. It is very good cloning tool and you can find guides for it. I don't know why you should search for other programme.

I will decide when it arrives...but if intel has a program, i trust that one.
I have an Intel 320 series 120gb ssd ordered...mirroring?
