I installed this RAM x2: ByteStor 2GB PC2-5300 DDR2 667MHz SO-DIMM Notebooks: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories
into an HP Compaq CQ50-100em. It started perfectly at first no problems at all. Noticed the difference in performance. After about 10 minutes a blue screen came up and it restarted. Started fine but then restarted again and then only started until saying something along the lines of windows failed to boot. I have the option start in safe mode which it fails at, or start normally which when i choose goes to a blue screen that says IRQL not less or equal. I've put back my 1gb stick and it works fine again. Can anyone help me out? Thanks!

Probably bad ram. It looks like it has a lifetime warranty though.

OK thanks. I did install it with the battery in and i think it was in hibernation mode, would this of caused any problems? I was so tired and had been away a few days when i did it i completely forgot it wasn't switched off. Cheers!
