I just bought a new XPS 1330 model and received it two days ago. Customer service was great, and it shipped and arrived at my house a full 9 days before it was expected. Out of the box it's an amazing system, but now after playing with it awhile I have some issues on it. Most of my issues arise from software programs or bloatware and the fact that Vista just isn't that impressive. I'm somewhat new as far as understanding computers, I'm no technician but I get around well. I'm trying to figure out what things I can delete of the extra programs to help improve performance.I have all the bells and whistles including 2 mb ram, 7200 rpm 160gb hard drive, intel core 2 duo processor 2.4 Ghz. I just feel with all this the system isn't running as well as possible. Any suggestions?

    Your help would be appreciated!

It's probably your 2Mb's of RAM thats slowing down your system... ;)

I don't know what kind of bloathware is on a Dell machine, so i can't help you with that, but just follow the link below if you want to speed up Vista a bit:

Clean install all over way. My t61 was the same and is now very quick with clean install and tweaks.

Check this thread as well i was looking to remove some bloatware myself.

You may want to do a semi clean install and not a full clean install. If you do a clean install you may well end up losing your recovery partition. Having a recovery partition can come in handy sometimes.

You can get Vista looking better. You can customise it if you are not happy with its appearance.

Also if you want to rid the powered by Dell internet explorer tag use this code-
    Click Start
Run and then type the following
    Rundll32 IedkCS32.dll, BrandCleanInstallStubs
    Then press enter
    Click Start
Run and then type the following:
    Rundll32 IedkCS32.dll, Clear
    Then press enter
Now restart and open your Internet Explorer

When you get a new computer it will be slower at first because the computer maybe trying to index things. I found that mine was slower at first at then things improved.

I am now using 3GB of ram and 1GB of Intel Turbo Memory and find that my computer is pretty super fast.

Hehe don't forget to fill in the Dell satisification poll that is in my sig. :)
