Can anyone suggest what I do next? I am deciding to do a clean install with Vista.
Also I think I got the intel SSD with the older firmware. I should update that.
Does anyone know what the default RAID # is on intel's SSD?

now what? lets see, take it back and get your money back (too expensive) or you can always put it into the drive space and use it.
-
Update the firmware, do a fresh install and be amazed!!!

If I were ever going to buy something that expensive I'm would be sure to know what to do with it when I got it.
-
I dont think amazed ..
just red article about intel ssd and there encountered some critical problem -
What do you mean, Intel SSDs don't utilize RAID (unlike sat Super Talent's RX which uses RAID0).

the intel is still blazing fast. Even moreso with the new firmware to fix write degradation. -

If you don't want it, I'll take it.

Same here. X25-Ms are dead sexy.
-
I was wondering if I should do a firmware update on it first or wipe it out with HDDErase 4.0 -
BTW, I haven't installed it into my system. It's still brand new in its orange sealed tape. -

why should you wipe out if its new? makes no sense. firmware update, yeah, why not?
-
LOL even with the degradation the x25-m is still better than any ssd out there and ANY nonstuttering ssd is better that EVERY consumer HDD
Yeah HDDErase is just if your drive is experiencing degradation due to ridiculous amounts of random writes, or if you just want it to act like it's 100% new again and with new firmware you should never have to worry about that. it fixes itself
I just bought an intel SSD... Now what?
