What's the best (aka cheapest?) place to buy a brick--laptop power supply? The super cheap one HP gave me when they repaired my notebook works on again/off again. Having to play with the cord every time I plug in is getting annoying.

Are you sure it is the power brick? Some HP notebooks were known to have power connector issues.

test the brick in another notebook to confirm, but I went and bought the thermaltake toughpower 95, there is also the coolermaster USN 95

dont buy the cheap chinese knock offs, they will literally melt, bought 4 of those, before I could find a proper one

amazon also sells several OEMs bricks might be worth a look

I always recommend buying OEM with anything dealing with power (batteries, AC adapters).

I'm pretty much in agreement with that. It just pisses me off to know that these things fail so soon and cost so much. If they're portable, they need to be created to be more sturdy. Especially at the stress points.

Edit: I ordered the HP Smart Charger

Turns out the brick wasn't my problem. It was a frayed power cord. Now I have 2 of them? :(

Anyone want to buy a OEM adapter?
