I have two, with eSata and USB ports, one even supports IDE disks as well as SATA :)

both bought from newegg, brand is OKgear or something like that. Cheap though, but work fine.

Typically, the Rosewill line of external enclosures are both very well made and very affordable, as well they should be: the Rosewill brand belongs to Newegg and is their attempt to sell their own line of computer peripherals and accessories.

In any event, I picked up a Vantec enclosure at Amazon not too long ago when they were on sale. Link as follows:

Vantec NexStar TX 2.5-Inch SATA to USB 2.0 External Hard Drive Enclosure

for a one-off use, it probably doesn't matter what kind of enclosure or usb cable you get. Time spent here emoting over $4 here and there could be better spent just getting the work done.

Pretty much, for quick jobs all you really need is the circuit board and I/O ports. Any extras on the enclosures are only necessary if you intend to house the hard drive in there for any extended period of time or permanently.
