My inspiron 1525's rom overheats and slows waaaayyyyyy down when I try to rip CD's. It's OK on the first 3 or so and then slows to crawl. I have 300 cd's to rip and don't have 20 years to do it. Where can I pick up an external cd-dvd burner player that will not overheat. Cost is "no object".

I have a Sony that sits upright and it does pretty good. Also has mirror looking front door so you can fix your eyelashes while burning disks, lol.

Get a decent 5.25" dvd burner and an enclosure for it. You can buy it from newegg.

Yep, I got an external LG 18X DVD/48X CD that will go through media like no other laptop based drive. $50 at Amazon if still in stock. Laptop drives so not worth it.
Burning 300 CD? No problem if you have a a few days to kill. Assuming these are legal burns? I think KRANE has the best idea; having them dulicated is the way to go..if cost no object.
I need an external cd-dvd player/burner that will not overheat, ever!!
