my ac adapter was chewed through so I bought a new one through e-bay because it was cheaper then through the company (stores were not selling it). But the person sent me an adapter with a different model # though on the bill it clearly states the Model # I bought was the same one as mine.
The Adapter I have that was chewed through is a
Liteon PA-1650-02
Input: 100-240v 1.6A 10-60Hz
Output: 19v 3.4A 65W
QY
Rev: A01
The Adapter they sent me is a
Liteon PA-1700-02
Input: 100-240v 1.8A 50-60Hz
Output: 19v 3.42A
AC
I was wondering if this new adapter is compatible with my laptop even though the model # is not the same and the A is not the same.
My laptop is an Acer Aspire 5570Z and is only about 4 months old

The output rating is the same for both PSUs. I suspect that the replacement PSU is a newer version.
However, before you try to plug it in, check the polarity of the plug. There should be a symbol on the PSU looking like a dot in a C with a + and - in circles. Most PSU plugs are centre positive so the + is connected to the dot. Provided this is OK, plug the PSU in. Then you may find the other possilbe problem: The plug doesn't fit. Both this and the polarity problem are unlikely if you have been sold a PSU for your specific computer.
