Hello,
I have an Acer Aspire 6935Z and am looking at upgrading the Processor on it. It has an Intel Core 2 Deo T6400 (2.0GHz, 800MHz FSB, 2MB L2 Cache) Please someone help? I got people saying I can and others saying I can't. I was looking at this ebay item... I use alot of the Adobe CS4 products, and I do 3D animation (not very well but learning) and I also do a small bit of gaming.
I'm also going to college in September and I wouldn't mind having my laptop going well. Also My laptop had 3GB DDR3 in there, and I took the 1GB out and replaced it with 2GB DDR3, now I have 2 DDR3's in there. if that helps.

Your link didn't work, so I have no idea what processor you were looking at upgrading to.
However you should be able to go up to use:
Core 2 Duo T6500
Core 2 Duo T6570
Core 2 Duo T6600
Core 2 Duo T6670
and possibly a T8100 or T8300.
Beyond those it's very questionable as it means an FSB jump which can cause problems. No upgrade is guaranteed though unless your model had processor options to use them. Even on those mentioned you should make sure they are of similar voltage.
On the other hand, to be honest with you, I think you will be wasting your money.
I'm guessing you are still on Vista 32bit. Instead of a CPU upgrade, I woudl invest in 4-8gigs of memory (depending on how much you can run) Windows 7 64bit and an SSD. These will do far more for you than a cpu upgrade. -
you can upgrade the cpu, but its likely not worth the money for what you are aiming at doing, i would invest in more ram as the previous poster said, that would help your acer out the most, and by far more than any cpu you could upgrade to.

if i'm correct , ur Acer uses PM45 chipset meaning u can use P7000,P8000, P9500/9600/9700 and T9400/9600/9800/9900... T9900 will be the fastest but cost wise , T9600 is also good is cheaper and only 0.2GHz slower than T9900... Also getting more RAM will help...get 4GB at least and 64bit windows 7... will help a lot.

My understanding is that since boards and bios are notebook specific, they don't always put every possible setting in them. Just because the chipset handles it, doesn't mean the bios will. -
well i do know ppl have put T9400 in there... so that should work.. usually , if u have latest BIOS , there should be no problems with T9000 series processors being used.. its another thing with the quads...they usually are not supported.. and even with T9900 , he won't have any problems with multipliers and voltage.... since T series are 35W TDP..
I need help with an upgrade please!
