Hello, I need some help. I have the ASUS G73-JH from Best Buy and I'm pretty sure my ram crapped out, So I'm unsure of which Ram to buy to upgrade it, and I was thinking of replacing them all. I just don't know what I'm looking for ram I should be looking for or decent prices. I'm good at replacing stuff if people know what they want. As well it may be possible for me to upgrade to windows 8 but right now I still have Windows 7 home , I think or I can put ultimate on it.

would I need regular ddr3 sd ram or would it have to be laptop ddr3 sd ram?

As well I was thinking of upping the harddrive while I was in it, Any reccomendations?

IIRC the upgrades depend on which G73JH you own. It should have 3 slots for up to 12 GB for the non quad core i7 models. I think the quad core models should support 8 GB SO-DIMM modules. You need laptop DDR3 RAM, desktop will not fit.

G73JH should have 2 hard drive bays, are you looking for speed or storage capacity? If you are looking for speed, a 2.5" SSD drive should be your primary concern, for storage any 750GB-1 TB platter drive should work.

As a previous owner of one of these units, you'll need a drive caddy to secure the 2nd drive inside. The Best Buy models also dropped the bluetooth module + cable. Ebay or a reputable seller should have these available.

Thank you so much! i have the 1 A version i7, so I would get 3 sticks equalling out to 8GB? SO-DIMM laptop DDR3 RAM? Yes it has 2 hard drive bays equalling out to 1 T, I'm looking for both. speed and storage, but at first I would like maybe something eqivilent to what it has 500Gig but faster at first for the primary.

So are you saying that I need a drive caddy to be able to replace the 2nd drive? truthslayer... and I have a bluetooth usb dongle thing
