I think this is a good idea but I'm not sure if it is going to drain the life out of my 8204. I have had my laptop plugged in and just had it sitting on a desk. Then at night when I turn it off, I have been unplugging the power cable from the back of the computer. I was wondering if I could instead unplug the cable that goes from the outlet to the AC adapter box thingamajigger instead so Im not constantly plugging in and out of the laptop.
It seems like that would just wear out the laptop faster. I just dont want that thing to somehow drain the electricity from the laptop or do something bad, or what you guys recommend instead for my situation?
Thanks

Why are you unpluging your laptop every night? That is not nessesary. All the laptops that I know shut off the charging once the battery is full.
To answer your question it is safe to unplug the cord from the wall instead of the computer.

I am laughing at your title. The last time I said those words it ended with me answering questions of police officers (i was much younger then). Oh and it involved a car, a closed school, and some cones. Wasn't a good idea, but man I have a story to tell my son one day.

dude, unplugging out of your laptop cant hurt it. But power adapters that are plugged in do still consume electricity, even if the other end is not plugged into your laptop. Ever pick one up after its been plugged in for a while, they get warm or even hot, b/c of the power they are drinking.

I think I have a good idea
