I was trying to place a 20GB sata hdd in my inspiron and realize That I must be missing a sata adapter to sata.
I don't what its called so forgive.
Or did my laptop just not get shipped with one.
I looked in my inspiron boxes nothing.

    Is this normal?
If so. Where I can get adapter so I can add this HDD.

Do you mean a second hard drive? If so, you will need a proprietary adapter in order to mount the drive in the bay. If you are simply replacing your original hard drive, you can re-use the mount from that.

The part is called a SATA port interposer. You would need to order this through Dell or a Dell etailer

Here is a site where you can buy the part you need:
    http://newmodeus.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=2_3&products_id=144

Please note their is no such thing as a 20Gb sata laptop harddrive.
If your harddrive is IDE, you cannot attach it to your laptop. The interposer will only work with SATA drives.
I believe the smallest SATA 2.5" drive is 60Gb.

    EDIT:
When you buy any Dell laptop which supports 2 harddrives, and you only buy one harddrive with it you only get one interposer.
